Brady Blake – Yaralla Junior Sports Star

Brady has recently attended the Queensland Youth Surf Lifesaving Championships at Burleigh Heads, on the Gold Coast.

Brady excelled at this event bringing home 3 medals in total. With Team mates Kane Martin, Taj Andrews and Rueben Gordon, the boys claimed a medal in the Board Relay event and the Cameron Relay event for the 3rd year running.

Out of a total of 150 boys and after a heat, quarter, semi and final, Brady rode his way to a bronze medal in the individual board event. It was a thrilling finish for his family and friends to watch, with Brady using his surf knowledge to swing well wide of the other competitors to catch a wave to the beach and sprint across the sandbar, with board under the arm, to cross a mere 20 cm in front of the the 4th placed competitor. After finishing 5th in the 2 years prior, he was determined to cross the line in a medal winning position this year!

Brady also made the Ironman final, where he finished 10th and the swim final. He also competed in the flags event, beach sprint and beach relay event. Over the course of the weekend Brady lined up for a total of over 20 events as he progressed through heats, quarter, semis and into finals.

Brady will be putting the money towards the Malibu Board that he needs as he moves into the U14 age group!
