Jacinta started tagging along to the kindergym program with her big brother when she was just 9 months old.
She quickly reached level 7 women’s artistic gymnastics in bar, beam, floor and vault, whilst simultaneously training as an acrobatic athlete.
In 2016 she was awarded a gold, silver and bronze medal at the Australian National Championships and all around gold at QLD state titles. In 2017 she was awarded three gold medals at National Championships and awarded Australian National Champion with her ACRO partner Tahlia.
Whilst being a very talented and strong athlete, the nature of the sport means you compete at the less skilled partners level, with the focus on training them to improve so that you can improve the team. This year, Jacinta has been partnered with an 8 year old. Working together only since late January, the pair are now ready to compete the season at Level 6. Jacinta’s patience in coaching, mentoring and encouragement of her much younger partners is amazing. Her perseverance and calm in the face of stress and adversity is second to none and is not usually a characteristic of a young teenager.
