Ryan qualified and competed in all four swimming strokes at the 2019 Queensland State Sprint Championships.
His family are confident that he has qualified again for this season’s event. He was also accepted into the Capricorn School Sports Team and holds the 10 year old meet record in Emerald for 100 m butterfly.
At Matt Fiddes Martial Arts, he endured a 4.5 hour long black belt grading when he was 9 years old. It was gruelling and difficult but he persevered and earned every little bit of the belt, he has been competing in the Matt Fiddes Australian Championships for the last four years and has come home with a bronze medal for sparring in the last two.
During the swimming season, he trains a massive 7 sessions a week for swimming and three sessions for martial arts.
